MAJOR ROADWORKS

The Scottish Executive and Bear Scotland advise motorists of major roadworks which are to be carried out on the A977 carriageway between Gartarry Roundabout and Kincardine Village from Monday 2nd December 2002 until Friday 20th December 2002.

The works valued at £444,000 are part of a commitment by the Scottish Executive to maintain and improve the road network and will involve the overlay and partial reconstruction of the A977 carriageway between Gartarry Roundabout and Kincardine Village. The package is designed to replace the worn out carriageway construction and will be of benefit to the road user through improvement of both ride quality and traffic safety.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays but due to the nature of the works traffic disruption and delay is to be expected during the works. Fife Police and Central Scotland Police in conjunction with Bear Scotland will monitor traffic delays and regular reports will be issued to the travelling public.

As a result, extra time should be allowed for journeys, particularly at peak periods. Motorists are asked to pay attention to the roadworks and advisory signs at all times, and to observe speed limits which may be in place. Drivers are also advised to consider using an alternative route or mode of transport.

Works have been prepared and will be supervised by Bear Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Executive, with the main Contractor being Raynesway Construction.

The Scottish Executive and Bear Scotland apologise for any delays while these essential works are being carried out. For further information please contact the sources below:
