A renewed effort to promote the area as a 'film friendly' location is being made by Clackmannanshire Council.

The Clackmannanshire on Screen website is now live at www.clacksonscreen.org. The new website contains information for film makers and a link to the Council's Flickr site which contains hundreds of potential location images which are publically accessible to production companies and Creative Scotland.

The Council receives almost daily requests to provide potential location images to film and TV producers from all over the world. The range of locations vary from castles and mansions to industrial areas and residential settings and the quicker the Council can provide a suitable image the better chance we have of attracting a film crew to the area.

Property owners who would like to register their properties as a potential location can complete a property information document and supply photographs of their property exterior and interior.

Councillor Kenny Earle, spokesman for tourism, said: "The Council has been promoting Clackmannanshire as a desirable location to film for some years and this new website is the latest step. Attracting this industry to the area would have great knock-on economic benefits with film crews looking for accommodation and places to eat. The launch of the new website should help to attract more film crews scouting locations, as well as giving residents, organisations and businesses the opportunity to sign-up."
