Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Joint Board made a presentation to retiring Chief Fire Officer Steven Torrie at their meeting on Friday 26th March.

Steven retires on 1 April. He was appointed Central Scotland's Chief Fire Officer in 2006. He will be replaced by the new Chief Fire Officer Kenny Taylor who is currently Director for Service Delivery within Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service.

Part of Friday's Board meeting was chaired by Councillor Eddie Carrick, who made the presentation.

Councillor Carrick paid tribute to Steven Torrie and said: "Steven has done a wonderful job, modernised the Service and improving industrial relations so that now Central Scotland is not only one of the best Fire and Rescue Services in Scotland, but in the UK as a whole."
