September 2008

The result of Dollar's first ever Community Council election will be known on Thursday 25th September 2008.

This is when the poll closes, with the count being held that afternoon in Dollar Civic Centre. The declaration of the result is expected at around 4pm. You are invited to attend.

The contest is in respect of eight of the 14 places on the Dollar Community Council, and there are 11 candidates. The ballot, which is being conducted entirely by post, is required to give residents in the area the opportunity to choose the candidates they wish to see elected.

Ballot papers were issued to everyone who's name appears on the electoral roll in Dollar - over 2000 people - and a turnout of around 30% is anticipated.

Candidates and current community councillors are expected to attend the count and declaration.
