Network Rail is working with Clackmannanshire Council to promote safer railways to the tune of £15,000. Network Rail's No Messin' Live event in Tullibody last year was so successful in educating young people on the dangers of playing and trespassing on railway lines that they have come back to Clackmannanshire to promote this year's No Messin' campaign.
The campaign launch on Tuesday 1 July will include a guest appearance by Olympic gold medallist and commonwealth champion Dick McTaggart. Dundonian McTaggart was the first British boxer to compete in three Olympics, winning gold in 1956 at Melbourne, and also won three ABA lightweight titles.
No Messin' is sponsoring Alloa Amateur Boxing Club and Tullibody Wrestling Club. The launch will be at the Bowmar Centre gym, which is to be re-named the No Messin' Gym. Alloa boxers will be putting on a show displaying their skills. Network Rail will also announce three scholarships for local boxers at the event.
