Enforcement of Planning Regulations

Clackmannanshire Council has a duty to regulate the development and use of land. The keystone of the planning system is the requirement to obtain planning permission for development. Where development has been carried out without the required permission, or has been carried out without complying with any condition or limitation required by the permission, a breach of planning control exists: the development is unauthorised.

The Development Quality Team are currently reviewing their Planning Enforcement Strategy and Draft Planning Enforcement Charter, which outlines Council procedures for dealing with complaints and enforcement issues that are planning related.

The Development Quality Team are currently working towards the implementation of this Strategy and Charter, and can be contacted on 01259 452540 to discuss any issues or concerns.
