The Council pubblishes an electronic weekly list of applications received and decided in the preceding 7 days. This is contained in the Development & Environment Bulletin. The changes in legislation now require the publication of a list of extant applications, i.e. a list of applications that we have still to decide on. This is now available online.
We also maintain the statutory Planning Register. Part 1 comprises information and documents on undecided applications. Part 2 comprises the decision notice, associated plans, and report of handling for every determined application.
The Council has two months to determine an application for planning permission for all local developments, and four months for a major development.
The responsibility for the assessment of all planning applications is delegated initially to individual case officers, who in turn will examine proposals, visit the site of the development and proceed to prepare a Report of Handling for each application. Most planning applications are for local development, and will be determined by Appointed Officers under the Council's Scheme of Delegation for Local Developments. Major applications will be decided by the planning committee.
