Grant opportunity to improve home energy efficiency

Grant opportunity to improve home energy efficiency

The Council has been awarded funding through the Energy Efficiency Scotland: Area Based Scheme (EES:ABS).

Grants of up to £18,500 are available, depending on your circumstances. Where a grant does not fully cover the cost of installing an energy efficiency measure, owners/private landlords would need to make a contribution towards the work being carried out, however, this is often just a small fraction of the total cost of the installation.

Previous EES:ABS programmes run by the council have attracted substantial grants for owner occupiers to help them pay for appropriate measures such as:

  • Internal/external wall insulation
  • Extract and refill of failed cavity wall insulation
  • Top-up loft insulation
  • Installation of solar panels and batteries

Owner and private landlords of pre 1990 properties of a non-traditional design

If you own a non-traditional design property and would be interested in obtaining a grant to improve the energy efficiency in your home, we would like to hear from you.

What is a non-traditional house?

  • Solid stone houses built before 1930. The work proposed for these properties would be internal wall and loft insulation;
  • Non-traditional houses ie those built with specialised processes of construction for example Atholl Steel, No Fines (concrete construction), Weir Timber, Cruden, Weir Phoenix. The work proposed for these properties would be external wall and loft insulation.
