Councillor Sam Ovens has been elected as the new Leader of Clackmannanshire Council. He replaces Councillor Janet Cadenhead, who had been Leader since May 2007.
Councillor Ovens was first elected to Clackmannan County Council in 1970 and he has been a member of Clackmannanshire Council since 2003.
He said: "There is no doubt that there are challenging times ahead, but I can guarantee that I will give 100% attention to this role and to the Council."
Councillor Cadenhead was elected to the role of Portfolio Holder for Regeneration. All other Cabinet portfolios remain unchanged.
