Annual Badminton Competition

The Annual Clackmannanshire Sports Development Badminton Tournament took place on Sunday 5th February at Tulligarth Community Sports Complex. This was the busiest competition to date with over 110 children from P1 - S6 taking  part in the eight categories of the competition.

There was a high standard of play in all categories from all players , for many of whom it was the first time they had attended the event.  There was a great atmosphere throughout the seven hours of play with parents encouraging all children to do their best in the competition.

All players that competed received a certificate of attendance and for most of the categories the competition was very close for the medal places.

Many thanks go to Clackmannanshire Sports Council, RJM Sports and McMichaels Sony Centre, Alloa for supporting the event. Councillor Brian Fearon, presented certificates and Bill Seton, representing Clackmannanshire Sports Council presented medals and trophies.  Councillor Fearon said, " it is great that Sports Development organise and promote events like this for our children to try out their skills, we could be looking at a future Commonwealth athlete in the 2014 games."
