Menstrie Primary has been praised by school inspectors following a visit earlier this year.
The inspection team from Education Scotland found the following strengths in the school, which has a roll of 238 children across 12 classes.
• Children who are keen to learn and engage well in their learning in well-planned, calm learning environments. The children are proud of their school and are polite and well-behaved.
• Staff have created a calm, nurturing ethos for learning across the school. They share warm, respectful relationships with children. They have a very supportive approach to ensuring the dignity of children and families.
Inspectors looked at two areas – learning, teaching and assessment and raising attainment and achievement. Both were evaluated as ‘good’.
Councillor Graham Lindsay, education spokesperson, said: “I am delighted to read the findings of the Education Scotland inspectors after their visit to Menstrie Primary.
“I am especially glad to see that the warm, supportive and caring environment the staff have successfully created singled out for praise.
“I am confident that the school will continue to make improvements in the future as they strive to ensure all children are challenged and supported to reach their full potential.”
