Twelve community projects have been awarded a total of £150,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Communities and Place Capital Grant Fund.

This is the third year this funding has been provided by the UK Government and administered by the Council.

The fund aims to support projects which bring communities together, develop the visitor economy or contribute towards a town or village centre improvement. All projects additionally have to demonstrate the potential for job creation.

The grant scheme was launched in August asking for applicants to come forward with suitable projects.  The successful applicants include:

  • Alloa Community Shed which has been awarded £16,000 towards refurbishing Marshill House for community use including developing a community hub with workshop spaces, training rooms, upgraded kitchen and an improved garden and outdoor area.
  • Menstrie Community Action Group was awarded £19,150 towards renewing and improving the flooring in the Dumyat Centre.
  • Scottish Autism has been awarded £25,000 towards the costs of building two person-centred pods and an outreach cabin for their redevelopment of Gartinny Nursery.
  • The Gate was awarded £11,500 for improvements to be made to their mobile food van and static food trailer.
  • Mums the Word has been offered an award of £10,000 towards the redevelopment of a vacant shop in Sauchie to turn into a charity shop, childcare facility and community café space.
  • Alloa Community Enterprise was awarded £17,378 towards the diversification of the business into industrial cleaning and re-use of donated mattresses, which will also significantly reduce waste going to landfill.
  • Tullibody Community Development Trust was awarded £10,270 to install soundproofing panels into the studio room in the Civic Centre and make it more useable.

Council Leader Cllr Ellen Forson said: "Congratulations to all the successful projects. It’s inspiring to see so many local groups coming forward with ideas that bring people together and make a real difference in our communities. Each initiative reflects the creativity, commitment, and community spirit that make Clackmannanshire such a special place to live. This funding will help them continue their fantastic work — creating spaces where people can connect, learn, and thrive together, while also supporting new opportunities for local employment and skills development.”
