Last chance to submit nominations for Scottish Education Awards 2016

People in Clackmannanshire are being urged to submit nominations for this year's Scottish Education Awards before the Monday 15 February deadline.

The awards, which celebrate the achievements of schools and teachers across Scotland, have attracted hundreds of nominations so far, but many more schools and individuals are worthy of acknowledgment.

Last year, Lornshill Academy in Alloa was shortlisted for the Enterprise and Employability Across Learning Award at the Scottish Education Awards 2015.

Cllr Ellen Forson, Education Convenor at Clackmannanshire Council, said:
"Throughout schools in Clackmannanshire, there are young people and staff working hard to make sure that everyone can achieve their full potential.

"The Scottish Education Awards gives our community a chance to recognise those great achievements and encourage our schools to continue to strive for improvement. I'd encourage everyone to think about the people who deserve our recognition and to nominate them."

There is a wide variety of award categories which recognise and reward the dedication of teaching staff and educational supporters who go the extra mile. Entry is open to all publicly funded schools including secondary, primary, nursery and special schools.

Nominations can only be accepted online. To nominate a school, teacher, headteacher or support staff member, or for more information on the award categories, go to www.scottisheducationawards.org.uk.

Winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in Glasgow this June.
