The Rotary Club of Alloa has, once again, sponsored early years road safety booklets for Primary 1 children attending all Clackmannanshire primary schools and Celia Norton, President of the Rotary Club thanked Constable Andy McGurk and Council Community Warden Alan Senior who will ensure that the booklets are distributed to all schools.

The presentation was made at St Serf's Primary School, Tullibody, and Carolyne McDaid, Headteacher said: "The Rotary Club project where booklets are distributed at all Primary 1 children is an excellent way of helping parents teach their children about road safety. They complement the work teachers do in school very well. All of us want our children to be safe on the roads."

Hector Nicolson, Vice President of the Rotary Club of Alloa said "The Rotary Club has sponsored similar booklets for several years to much acclaim by teachers, parents, police and Clackmannanshire Council. Parents are urged to read the important messages contained in the booklets and to instruct their child in road safety matters, being ever mindful of the fact that many children are injured, sometimes seriously, in road traffic collisions close to their school or home."
