Fairfield Skate Park JamHundreds of wheel sport enthusiasts enjoyed the new facilities at Sauchie skate park on Friday 9th August.

The Council-organised event included the Clan cycle stunt team, who wowed crowds at the Big Buzz festival last month in Alloa.

The skate park opened to users in May and has proved to be a very popular attraction. Friday's event also included competitions, music and workshops.

The park is open to all wheel sports, including BMX bikes and scooters and is free to use. The design incorporates a half pipe, grinders and a fun box.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convenor, Councillor Ellen Forson said: "This skate park is another excellent sporting facility for the youth of the whole of Clackmannanshire."

The event was organised by local young people to make the end of a successful Youth Services summer programme and included members of the Skate Park Users Group (SPUG) graffiti art group who had been meeting regularly to develop skills in graffiti art with the view to painting a community arts project at the new skate park.
