End of term at Craigbank Primary

Craigbank Primary has had a busy end of term, with staff retirals, a talent show, achievement awards and a graduation ceremony.

The Pupil Council arranged an end of term talent show on Thursday 23 June which was a huge success. Children interested in performing were auditioned by the Pupil Council and acts selected for the show. Lauren Banks a former pupil with a huge talent for singing returned to the school to launch the event.

Pupils wished P1 class teacher Mrs McCall and Supervisory Assistant Mrs Lindsay a fond farewell at the show, as both are retiring after many years.

At the end of term Church Service on Friday 24 June Craigbank presented their annual 'Celebration of Achievement' awards. Kieran MacArthur from P7J was awarded the Achievement Award for his outstanding ability across the curriculum. Ciaron Ritchie was awarded the Endeavour Award for his effort and diligence within all areas of the curriculum. Mairi Weir received the Sporting Achievement award in recognition of her sporting expertise and sportsmanship behaviour. The Citizenship Award was presented to Lewis McCulloch in recognition of the high standard of behaviour and helpfulness displayed by him throughout his seven years in school. The winning 'House' this year was 'Ochil' and House Captain, Kieran MacArthur received the award on their behalf.

Teachers, Jennifer Price and Morag Jamieson arranged an end of school 'ball' for their pupils on Thursday evening. Earlier in the day, parents were invited to a 'graduation ceremony'.

Head teacher Rhona Robotham said, "It was a very emotional day for our Primary 7 pupils and parents. Everyone had a wonderful time."

Portfolio holder for inclusion George Matchett added, "Seeing pupils move on to secondary school is a proud moment. Council staff have helped these young people develop into confident individuals and successful learners who I'm sure will do well at secondary school. They are at the forefront of curriculum for excellence."
