The festive fun kicks off with Alloa's Christmas Lights Switch On which takes place on Thursday 2nd December.

The fun starts at 5.30pm in the High Street with stilt walking street entertainers the Ice Queen and her Butler. There will also be magic and balloon modelling with children's entertainer 'Alexander the Great.'

There will be fun, games and giveaways for all the family with Big AL Entertainment Roadshow.

The lights will be switched on by Naseer-Ud-Din Hamayaun and Kiele Ferguson, two pupils from Claremont Primary School, Alloa, at 7pm, helped by Provost Derek Stewart.

The Christmas Lights Switch On is the first in a series of festive events happening over the next few weeks in Clackmannanshire.

The fun fair will return to Kilncraigs Car Park on Saturday 4th December from 11am - 6pm.

And on the same day a Christmas Community Fair will be held inside Kilncraigs from 1-4pm. Admission to the Fair is free.

A range of local groups and clubs including Opening More Doors, Alloa Musical Players, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Clackmannanshire District Scouts and Alloa & Sauchie Beavers have taken stalls at the event and this will be a chance to support these local groups.
