The winners of this year's Council Gardening Competition will be presented with their prizes by Provost Derek Stewart at Kilncraigs on the evening of Friday 4 September at 7pm. You are invited to send a reporter/photographer.
This year's judges included Mike Joyce from Falkirk Council. Mike has over 30 years of horticultural experience within local authorities, from his apprenticeship with Glasgow Parks Department to his current post with Falkirk's Outdoor Services. During this time he has gained invaluable experience on a wide variety of horticultural skills, particularly in the area of landscape design. He was joined by Provost Derek Stewart, Allan Gall and Kathy Knox from Clackmannanshire Council. The winners were those who presented bright, colourful displays using original ideas and design.
Provost Stewart said, "It is always a pleasure to judge the competition and to present the prizes to individuals who have worked long and hard to make parts of our county even more beautiful. The level of competition was fantastic this year, and I look forward to seeing more creative and colourful gardens in 2010."
