Menstrie House celebrates its Silver Jubilee this month.
The establishment, which is the Council's only remaining long stay care home, was opened on 15th May 1984.
To mark the 25th anniversary, Menstrie House is planning to hold a garden party within their grounds in on Friday 15th May.
Menstrie House caters for over 40 older people who's average age is over 80. The majority of residents have dementia and a high level of need.
The commemorate the anniversary service users have helped to create a piece of ceramic art work.
The art work will be unveiled by Provost Derek Stewart during Friday's celebrations. You are invited to send a photographer to Menstrie House at 2pm on Friday 15th May. The unveiling is at 2.30pm.
Community Artist Margo Winning and Potter John Maguire from Aberdona Gallery have been working with a group of service users and designed the panel using the experiences and information they provided.
They were also inspired by beautiful cherry tree which is in the grounds of Menstrie House. The main image on the panel is of the tree, but with a twist - the image of the tree has been made using textured leaf and twig patterns created by using materials from our own gardens.
A pale green glaze has been added with some pinkish blush-like blossom.
The service users enjoyed creating their own leaf patterns and then applying the slip to outline the design. Text has also been incorporated into the design, running along the branches - these are words service users have chosen to describe how they feel about Menstrie House.
