A group of teenagers are now aspiring artists thanks to community artist Margo Winning.
Margo is employed by the Council to ensure that the public are consulted on new public art works. She is also an artist in residence at Aberdona Gallery for Artisans where she has been working with community groups to encourage everyone to find their creative streak.
Having been involved in the consultation exercise to choose the design for Menstrie's new sculpture, the young people were bitten by the 'art' bug and started to attend workshops at Aberdona.
As a result they have created a glass 'wheel' sculpture.
You are invited to send a photographer to Aberdona at 5pm on Tuesday 16th December when the group will be putting the finishing touches to the sculpture.
Margo said: "The group are aged between 15 and 18 and at the beginning most of them insisted that they 'weren't arty'. But they have now been involved in every stage of the design process from drawing designs, to creating moulds and seeing the finished product come out of the kiln and have enjoyed it all."
The sculpture has been created using recycled bottles donated by Alloa's glass factory OI which have given the piece a marbled 'ice' effect.
The group are now trying to find a permanent home for their sculpture where it can be publicly displayed.
