A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a wealthy but miserable old man who hates Christmas and cares little for other people.
On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns him to change his ways or suffer a miserable fate.
Scrooge is then visited by three spirits - the Ghost of Christmas Past, who shows him his happier younger years, the Ghost of Christmas Present, who reveals the joy and hardship experienced by others, including the poor Cratchit family and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, who shows him the lonely consequences of his selfishness.
Deeply affected, Scrooge wakes on Christmas morning determined to change.
