Live streaming of Edinburgh International Book Festival events

Speirs Centre - Monday 11th August 2025 to Wednesday 20th August 2025

This August at the Speirs Centre, the library will be live streaming select events from the Edinburgh International Book Festival for the first time.

Alloa Library will be virtually hosting some big names in literature online including Haillie Rubenhold, Paula Hawkins, Maggie O'Farrell, Alistair Moffat, Kate Anderson, Rosemary Goring, Jade Scott. 

A new initiative for 2025, this will enable people to experience the festival’s events without travelling through to the city of Edinburgh. 

The timetable of EIBF screenings at the library are as follows. (Please note these screenings are aimed at adult audiences).

    • 12.45-13.45, Hallie Rubenhold: Not Just Victims
  • Wednesday 13 August
    • 12.45-13.45, Paula Hawkins: An unexpected visitor
  • Thursday 15 August
    • 13.30-14.30, Maggie O'Farrell: The Front List
  • Tuesday 19 August
    • 12.45-13.45, Alistair Moffat: Scotland in a Lifetime
  • Wednesday 20 August
    • 12.45-13.45, Kate Anderson/Rosemary Goring/Jade Scott: The Captive Queen and her son
