Devon Colliery closed and was razed to the ground many years ago. Only the beam engine house survives. It is a tall, rectangular building of high quality, with a hipped slate roof. A Cornish Pumping Engine built by Neilson & Co was used to drain the mine shaft but only the massive cast-iron beam and pump have survived.
In 1993 the building was restored and converted carefully to office space by the creation of two mezzanine floors, without destroying the appearance of a tall, single space interior. The building is now empty and awaiting a new use.
