This year Alloa came alive with people searching for the Real Radio fugitive.
Now the Council is asking for help catching a different sort of renegade - the litter dumper who is scattering old newspapers the length of the County.
Ewart McAuslane, Head of Environmental Services at the Council, says that over the last few months roadsides and streets have been littered with waste from cars and other vehicles. Cigarettes dumped from car ashtrays also contribute to the problem with tonnes of fag ends collected every year . But now a new threat is reaching almost epidemic proportions - abandoned daily newspapers.
He said: "It may seem silly to talk about epidemics when it comes to litter, but that's the situation we're in. For some reason there has been a marked increase in vehicle derived litter in general and newspapers thrown from vehicles in particular. These scatter and do nothing for the area's environment. We don't know if it's one person single handedly littering the area or if it's several people. But we want residents to be on the look out for this litterbug and to report it to our litter hotline."

The Council spend nearly £800,000 every year lifting litter that should not be there in the first place.
Think what that cash would pay for in schools, care for the elderly or in leisure facilities or play areas?
