A number of small businesses across Clackmannanshire have received a grant to upgrade to faster, better broadband through the Broadband Connection Voucher Scheme.

The scheme, which ran from March to October 2015, provided grants of up to £3,000 to cover the capital and equipment costs of upgrading your broadband connection.

The total number of vouchers issued in Clackmannanshire was 15 with a total value £9,482. 2,899 vouchers were issued across the whole of Scotland.

Enterprise and Environment Convener Donald Balsillie said: "For many businesses high speed broadband isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. It is frustrating that some small businesses can't get the broadband connection they need - so I'm delighted to hear that 15 local businesses have received help to change that with Broadband Connection Vouchers. I am determined to ensure that the Council does all that it can to support the expansion of the fibre broadband network across Clackmannanshire and enable businesses to connect to it particularly in our commercial and industrial areas."
