If you're looking for a new home in Clackmannanshire, drop-in to a family open day at the Council's new Home@Clacks service on Saturday 15 March from 11am-2pm at Kilncraigs to find out how we can help.

Along with face painting and other activities for the children, at the open day you can see how Home@Clacks can provide practical help to get you moving by finding out your individual housing needs and giving you a Personal Housing Plan.

Staff will be on hand to help with all housing options, including how to register an interest for new affordable housing at Coalsnaughton and Alva. They can also advise on issues like renting from a private landlord using Clacks Home Finder, a website where landlords can advertise their vacant properties in Clackmannanshire.

If you are a tenant of a social rented landlord but your current home is no longer suitable, you can get help to register on the Homeswapper website to swop your home with someone who also wants to move. This system will find possible matches for you.

Staff at Home@Clacks can also guide you through the possibilities of home ownership, and point you in the direction of schemes that could make home ownership more affordable.

If you are unfortunate enough to be asked to leave your current home and think you may become homeless, visiting the office as soon as possible will give you the best options for re-housing options. We may even be able help you continue to stay in your home.

Money Advice staff will also be on hand to assist with any debt issues or benefit advice you may require.

Housing Convenor Les Sharp said: "Come along to our open day and get some hands-on and practical help to find a new home in Clackmannanshire. If you're in the town bring the kids along for some fun on the day with the Home@Clacks team and get valuable advice for yourself."
