Enterprise & Environment Committee representativesTwo more local business representatives have been co-opted on to the Council's Enterprise and Environment Committee.

Robert Marshall from Marshall Construction attended his first committee meeting on Thursday (7 November). Apologies were received from Graham Struthers from the Federation of Small Businesses.
The two were appointed to the committee after expressions of interest were asked for in a local newspaper advert, and their appointment was approved by the committee. Clackmannanshire Business has already nominated two co-opted to the committee - Mike Mulraney and Malcolm McArdle.

Enterprise and Environment Convener Donald Balsillie said: "I am very pleased to welcome Robert and Graeme to the committee. Their appointment reinforces the priority the Council gives to economic and environmental development by seeking advice and expertise from the wider Clackmannanshire community. This is part of our ongoing efforts to develop a more effective approach to community engagement and consultation."

Co-opted representatives will have a significant advisory role and like elected members may participate in the debate and discussion on issues coming before the Committee and question officers on such issues.

Unlike elected members, however, co-opted representatives will not have a vote or substitute representative and cannot move or second a motion or amendment.
