Lornshill SQA Exam successThe recent SQA examination results have brought great pleasure to many Lornshill students, their parents and the school's staff.

And 17 of Lornshill's current Sixth Year have special reason to celebrate after each of them learned they had achieved five passes at Higher Level. They achieved their success in subjects as wide-ranging as Biology and Business Management, Physics and French, Maths and Computing, with all of them gaining Higher Awards in English.

Two of the group, Kirsten Scobie and Emma Stirrat, achieved their five Highers at Grade A.

The seven boys and ten girls attribute their success to hard work, being organised, being focused on their studies and to making the most of every opportunity to receive additional study support.

A delighted Kirsten said: "I'm just so relieved that it's all over - at least for this year! There's no secret to the success: we just all worked very, very hard and I'm sure everyone really deserves their passes."

Emma added: "I'm really pleased with my results and I'm looking forward to continuing my studies in Sixth Year. It's great that so many of us have achieved Five Highers."

Both girls now aim to complete applications for university.

Councillor Forson said: "I'm delighted to congratulate these young people on their success. They have shown what can be achieved with dedication and hard work. I wish them every success for their continued studies and for their futures."

In addition to this highly successful group of 17 pupils, results for session 2012/13 show general improvement across the board. Details of the results can be found on the school website at www.lornshill.clacks.sch.uk/.
