Clackmannanshire welcomed two long distance travellers to the Scottish FA Coach Education course last Sunday, organised by the Council.

Football coaches Abdulaziz Alroomi and Alsanea Abdullah both flew in from Kuwait to attend the Scottish FA's youth/main Development Activities 1.1 module at Lornshill Academy which is the first step on the pathway for working with players aged 13 and over.

So why had they chosen to come to Clackmannanshire to begin to undertake their coaching qualifications?

Abdulaziz replied: "Qualifications from the Scottish FA are world renowned and we wished to come here to begin our coaching experience. We have both thoroughly enjoyed the course and wish to come back in the near future in order to undergo further qualifications."

Alsanea added: "I have been greatly impressed by the facilities we have been able to use at Lornshill Academy and would like to thank the tutors for their efforts. It has been a great day and a worthwhile experience."

Both coaches were presented with a gift from Clackmannanshire Council's Scottish Football Association Football Development Officer Graeme Henderson.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convener, Councillor Ellen Forson commented, "It is a marvellous effort for both Abdulaziz and Alsanea to travel all the way from Kuwait to attend this course.

"It was a pleasure to have them with us and I am glad that they have chosen to visit Clackmannanshire. I hope that they can use what they have learned to help them at their club back home in Kuwait. It is also extremely pleasing to see the high regard that Scottish FA Coach Education courses are held across the world."
