Clackmannanshire Council's Active Easter Programme gets underway on 1st April, offering a wide range of sport and activities for children and young people during the two week spring break.

The programme has been extended for the Spring holiday, to include Alva Academy in the Activity Camp programme during the first week and Lornshill Academy during the second week of the holidays. Both camps are for children aged between 5-13 with events taking place each day from 8.30am until 4.30pm.

The Alva Academy Activity Camp will be from Tuesday 2nd April until Friday 5th April, with the Lornshill Academy Activity Camp being held from Monday 8th April until Friday 12th April.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convener, Councillor Ellen Forson said: "Our activity camps are jam packed with exciting activities, including arts and crafts, a bouncy castle and a whole range of sporting activities including table tennis, football, badminton, fun fitness sessions, team games and quizzes. I would encourage many of our young people in Clackmannanshire to get along, get involved and above all, have a fun and Active Easter."

A full range of sport and creative activities for young people will also be on offer at Alloa Academy and the Bowmar Centre, whilst Firpark Ski Centre has an extensive programme of events at the Easter Ski School.

There will also be Active Kids events for 5-12 year-olds and Active Teens events with free swimming at Alloa Leisure Bowl from 1st-12th April between 1pm and 4pm each day for all children under-16. Children under-eight must be accompanied by an adult.

In a packed programme of events another highlight of the fortnight will be the Flames Festival at Lornshill Academy between 9.30am and 3pm on Friday 12th April. It is for P1 to P7 children, where they can take part in their very own Commonwealth Games Festival, including an opening and closing ceremony. They will also get the chance to learn the skills and play small sided versions of volleyball, basketball, hockey, athletics, boccia and many other sports
