Pupils at Lornshill Academy are this Friday holding a 12 hour 'Sponsored Sportathon' to raise money for a defibrillator for the school.

The school is inviting 100 pupils to participate in an all-night of sport, which is also part of the culmination of the school's Health Week.

Pupils will be in the PE department from 10pm on the Friday evening until 10am on the Saturday morning.

Throughout the night pupils will choose what activity they participate in order to raise as much money as possible.

Throughout the week the school had been running a competition called 'An Apple a Day'
giving pupils the chance to win an Apple product every day.

Pupils were asked to purchase a raffle ticket for £1 and there has been a prize drawn every day during health week. All proceeds will go towards buying the defibrillator.

Education Convener Councillor Ellen Forson said: "I would like to congratulate all the pupils at Lornshill Academy for their fantastic efforts in both organising and taking part in Health Week, which is extremely important for all our children. I would like to wish all of the participants all the very best in their 12 hour marathon Sportathon."
