Clackmannanshire athletes won a total of 17 medals at the The Scottish Disability Sport National Junior Track and Field Championships which were held last week at Grangemouth Sports Stadium.
Over 215 junior athletes from as far as the Scottish Highlands to the Borders competed at the event on the day.
Fourteen pupils from various schools in Clackmannanshire qualified through the CPSSA athletics championship or at the Forth Valley Disability Sport Regional Athletics championships in May this year to compete against the best in Scotland in events from 60m to 800m as well as shot putt, javelin and long jump.
A total of six gold, five silver and six bronze medals were won by the Clackmannanshire entrants in a range of events. For many this was the first time competing in a national competition
Councillor Ellen Forson, Convenor of Clackmannanshire Council Education, Sport and Leisure Committee, said : It is encouraging to see so many of our children represent the wider team of Forth Valley and progressing to national level competition.
"They've done amazingly well to not only qualify but to return with a significant amount of medals."
