The Clackmannanshire Doorstep Crime Partnership has recently been set up by a number of agencies including Clackmannanshire Council's Trading Standards Team, Central Scotland Police, Care and Repair, Age Scotland and a number of Community Councils.

The Doorstep Crime Initiative is important for all our communities within Clackmannanshire because it addresses a growing area of crime which can affect the elderly and vulnerable. We have become aware of an increasing number of incidents where consumers are targeted in their own homes by criminals in the guise of roofers, builders, tree surgeons, bank employees and many other types of traders who may knock on your door.

The Partnership has designed a Doorstep Advice booklet which contains information on how to feel safe and secure in your home. The aim of the booklet is to inform and empower people, making them feel confident in their own home. The booklet also contains contact details for a number of agencies who can offer advice and support in relation to Doorstep Crime.

The Partnership is having an official launch in Parklands Hall, 192 West Stirling Street, Alva on Friday 25th March 2011 at 10 am. The launch is being sponsored by The Scottish Association of Neighbourhood Watches. The launch is open to all residents in Clackmannanshire and is free of charge.
