The Council's budget will be the topic under debate and scrutiny at Clackmannanshire Youth Council's annual citizenship event which takes place next week.

Taking its theme 'Money Matters' from the recent public engagement process, the event will use fun methods including the 'World Cafe' style and a 'Price is Right' game to stimulate ideas and discussion.

The event, which takes place at the Dunmar House Hotel, Alloa on 17th November, aims to increase knowledge amongst young people of the services the Council provides, as well as being engaged in the budget process. The annual youth citizenship event is organised by the Youth Council in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council.

You are invited to send a photographer to Dunmar House at 3pm.

Councillor George Matchett, Inclusion Portfolio Holder, said: The Council, in common with all pubic sector organisation, is facing challenging financial targets and it is vital that all sections of the community are aware of the issues, as well as the services that could be affected. I'm delighted that the Youth Council is tackling this vital issue at their citizenship event, in what sounds like a fun and engaging way."

The Youth Council will hold its AGM after the activities, so the event is also an opportunity for any young person who is interested in becoming a member to put their name forward and get more involved.

The event runs from noon-4pm and is for young people aged from 12 - 25. To book your place contact Tracy Duff on 01259 763940, email tduff@clacks.gov.uk
