Community Councils in Clackmannanshire have responded positively to the Council's efforts to gather feedback on the forthcoming budget.

Council staff have attended meetings of Muckhart, Alva and Tullibody, Glenochil & Cambus Community Councils and have been impressed with their commitment to the engagement process. Positive initial responses have also been made by Clackmannan, Dollar, Tillicoultry and Menstrie Community Councils, to gather feedback on behalf of their communities.

Emails and letters from local residents, as well as lots of completed questionnaires - both online and in writing - continue to pour in.

And at the second of our face-to-face supermarket events, Council staff handed out over 1200 'Money Matters' leaflets at Tesco's on Thursday. The leaflet was also widely distributed at the Scotfest food festival in Alva on Saturday. The leaflet explains how the Council currently spends its budget and illustrates the kinds of areas where senior officers think we could make efficiencies.

Nikki Bridle, Director of Finance and Corporate Services, said: "There's been a great response to this engagement process and I would encourage anyone who is yet to get involved to have their say. The deadline for questionnaires to be returned is 4th October."

The Money Matters leaflet, which includes a questionnaire, is available in all Council offices. A Freepost address has been set up so that the questionnaires can be returned at no cost. They can also be handed into any Council office or building and at the public events. More information is also available on the Council's website with a link from the front page and the questionnaire is available to complete online or to download. There is also a dedicated email address for comments on this issue: lookabootye@clacks.gov.uk. Or you can write to us at Freepost TY805, Clackmannanshire Council, Greenfield, Alloa, FK10 2AD.
