Clackmannanshire Council will spend £35.755 million on improvements over the next five years.

The capital programme to 2014/15 was approved at today's special meeting of the Council - the capital fund pays for permanent improvements such as new buildings and refurbishments.

The programme includes significant developments such as the proposed new primary school replacing St John's and Claremont, development of community facilities in Alva, improvements to Alloa Town Hall and the refurbishment / redevelopment of the Speirs Centre in Alloa. In addition, there is continued investment in our roads and footways, flood prevention schemes and security improvements to our primary and nursery schools.

Councillor Eddie Carrick, Sustainability Portfolio Holder, said: "I welcome the projects contained in the capital programme, which is realistic, affordable and achievable."
