Clackmannanshire Council has listened to customers when making changes to traffic lights in Alloa. The timings at the traffic lights at the Asda and Aldi supermarkets have been changed so that shoppers leaving the supermarket car parks can do so more quickly and easily.

The new timings will give customers leaving the car parks more time, ending frustrating delays for drivers. The Council has also added a left turn filter that allows vehicles making a left hand turn out of the Aldi carpark to join the Whins Road smoothly.

Director of Development and Environmental Services, Garry Dallas, said, "We received several submissions from drivers saying that the timing of the traffic lights could be improved. Queues could build up coming out of the supermarkets, especially at peak shopping times, and cars did not always give way to allow drivers out of the Aldi car park. Now that we have improved the system, we expect a smoother journey for many.

"Alloa's large supermarkets draw shoppers into the town, so we want to do what we can to make shopping and parking simple."
