An exhibition of art and crafts from across Scotland opens at Aberdona Gallery for Artisans on Saturday 5th December.

Entitled 'Winter Works' the mixed exhibition includes submissions from professional and amateur artists of paintings, prints, glass, ceramics, wood, jewellery and a some interesting metal work including a chair that incorporates bicycle bits by Stuart Harper - this has to be seen!

Over 50 artists have submitted work, which will also be available for sale. Prices range from £10 upwards and the exhibition is well worth a visit, especially if you are looking for an unusual or special Christmas gift.

Many local artists are represented alongside artists from further afield. A large scale work by well-known chainsaw carver Rodney Holland from Dumfries has been installed outside the Gallery.

Recent storms and floods in her immediate environment inspire the work of local artist Morag Knight, who lives just outside Dollar, making her pieces very much of the moment.

Glasgow-based artist Ratnadevi, who is a member of the Western Buddhist Order, has been working with the theme of mindfulness and is inspired by the very breath moment by moment.

Winter Works will be open daily from 10am to 5pm and is free of charge. The show runs until 8th February.
