On 2 June, Clackmannanshire Council planning services saw a great turnout to their first ever customer forum, with over 40 attending the event at Gean House. People came along from local architects, consultants, the development industry and community councils.

The event featured presentations including a paper from Neil Collar, a partner in Brodies Solicitors, and one of Scotland's most highly respected specialists in the field of planning law. He highlighted a series of planned changes in legislation which are being described by Scottish Government as the most significant review of the planning system in Scotland in over 60 years.

Other papers included an introduction to the modernisation of the planning service and an overview of e-planning, which allows people to lodge applications and appeals online.
All presentations were very well received, with a range of issues being raised during the question and answer sessions.

Development Quality Team Leader Ian Duguid, who chaired the event, said, "I was delighted with the turnout and the participants reported that the forum was useful and engaging. We plan to hold more events focussed continually improving our service to customers, as they are an excellent opportunity to find out what people want."

The event was by invitation only to ensure that it reached a targeted audience of customers.
