News of the Council's winning ways with IT have spread - so much so that a delegation of French visitors will be welcomed to Alloa on Friday.

The group are from Aquitaine Europe Communication - a regional agency established by the EU to promote IT solutions within south-west France.

After spending time at Holyrood hearing about the development of e-government and the Scottish Parliament's flagship e-petitions system, the delegation visit Alloa on Friday 9th March.

The group are especially interested in local government areas which use call centres and the internet and will visit the Click Centre and the Council's customer contact centre - both examples of best practice.

The delegates will be welcomed by Head of Business Improvement and Technology Services Barry Dickson and Jim Goodall Head of Schools and Quality Improvement.

You are invited to send a photographer to the Click Centre at 11.45am on Friday 9th March when the visitors will be welcomed to the county.

The Click Centre, which opened in 2001, is a state of the art learning centre in the heart of Alloa. Click has a 'drop in' cybercafe and a learning plaza both equipped with high specification computers. It also has a performance space, video-conferencing facilities, a digital music recording studio and a video production and editing suite.

The Council launched its Customer Contact Centre in 2004, providing residents with a single point of contact for accessing Council services over the phone.

Contact Centre staff receive around 13,000 calls each month and help with a wide range of general inquiries. Services being handled through the Contact Centre are constantly being expanded to improve customers' experiences of calling the Council.

The visit has been facilitated by Ochil MSP George Reid, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, who will also be present on Friday.
