Ochil Community Garden

The Ochil Community Garden is based at the Ben Cleuch Centre in Tillicoultry and consists of

• raised growing beds with paths to allow access for everyone
• a polytunnel for seeds and bringing-on young plants
• an area of seating
• a small sensory garden to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone
• flower and shrub beds
• compost bins

The fruit and vegetables grown in the garden are used in cookery classes.

A Community Food and Health promotion Grant was also awarded to the project to develop the garden.

The Ben Cleuch Centre has kitchen facilities, dining area, fully accessible changing and toilet facilities, library and computers.

The garden was developed to provide opportunities for service users and local community groups to experience practical gardening activities in a protected and supported environment.

The service provides therapeutic, social, educational and employment opportunities to adults with a learning disability.
