Anne Pearson has been appointed as the new Chief Education Officer.

Anne will take up the new appointment in the next few months and brings a wealth of experience in education and leadership to the role as the current Head of Schools with Falkirk Council. Anne worked in Clackmannanshire for several years earlier in her career, notably as Headteacher of Park Primary School and Integration Manager for Park Campus. She grew up in Sauchie and attended Lornshill Academy.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convener, Ellen Forson said: "I am absolutely delighted that Anne will be coming back to Clackmannanshire. She brings passion, commitment and a clear vision which puts children first and she will be the ideal person to develop and lead the Council's exciting new approach to education management."

Anne Pearson said: "I consider it an honour to take up this post and I look forward to engaging once again with staff, pupils and families across the county."

The Council agreed in December to adopt an innovative new cluster-based approach to education management. In the first instance, Anne will be focussing on establishing the new education service. Once the existing shared services arrangement with Stirling formally ends, Anne will take on full responsibility for all aspects of the service.
