Clackmannanshire Council's modern apprentices have had great success in going on to permanent work - and we're looking for new people to take up placements.
Six young people have moved on from their placements with the Council to full time jobs.
Cloey Watt, Leigh Sneddon and Daryl Muir are all working full time for the Council's Business Support team, having finished their Level 2 Business and Administration SVQs during their nine month apprenticeships.
Arran Heugh and Tamara Johnstone have both been successful in getting two year contracts with Stirling Council as Administration Support Officers, and Arran will be completing his level 3 SVQ during that time.
Laura Goodwillie has joined Polymer Logistics in Grangemouth in an administrative role and will also have the chance to complete her level 3 SVQ.
Daniel Black, Greg Fortheringham and Vicki Williamson are continuing their apprenticeships.
Cloey said, "It has been a good experience and has been great to achieve my level 2 within 9 months as it has helped me gain a full time job in Business Support."
Angela Hall, Terminal Manager at Polymer Logistics, said, "Polymer Logistics has benefited from the opportunity of being able to employ young people with the skills such as those learned by Laura during her apprenticeship."
Councilor Eddie Carrick, portfolioholder for sustainability, added "We're very proud of our apprentices, who have grown in confidence and experienced and now gone on to find full time work. The modern apprentices scheme is a valuable way for young people to experience a working environment and gain a useful qualification."
Clackmannanshire Council is now looking for young people to take up placements in administrative and child care roles, and for employers who might be interested in employing a modern apprentice. Sometimes financial support is available to businesses who take on an apprentice. Interested individuals and businesses should call the Council's training unit on 01259 450000, or email trainingunit@clacks.gov.uk
