The recent days and weeks have been extremely challenging and difficult. Following announcements from the UK and Scottish Governments, we find ourselves in unchartered territory having to work at a pace which is unprecedented.
As a Council it is vital that we continue to maintain and deliver critical services to the most vulnerable people in our communities. This can be challenging even when we are not in times of a national emergency!
I know that our dedicated Council staff have been working long hours, cancelling leave and coming in at weekends to make sure that we continue to provide those vital services and protect our community. So I would like to personally thank you for all of your hard work. Your efforts and very much appreciated.
As we go forward in these uncertain times, I know you will continue to do whatever you can to maintain essential services in the face of challenges such as staff shortages, working remotely and balancing childcare and, living under lockdown conditions.
I have been humbled by the generous offers of support from individuals, community organisations, faith groups and local businesses and I have been heartened by the kindness and compassion I am seeing every day across Clackmannanshire, which is echoed in the work that you are all carrying out.
Our priority must be staff health and safety and I would urge everyone to follow the advice and guidance to keep you safe.
I am sure that by working together we will get through this difficult time.
Thank you to staff members who have already filled out our Staff Volunteer Survey. We've had more than 150 responses already!
The survey is still live and we would love to hear from you. You can fill out the survey by following this link:

From close of business today, we will be consolidating resources onto the 1st and 2nd floors.
Please can you make all relevant staff aware of this and ensure that they move any equipment they are likely to require before they leave tonight.
There are sufficient desks/space in these areas to accommodate the numbers of staff expected while maintaining the necessary social distancing. These areas will receive a thorough clean tonight to maintain staff safety.
A central signing in book will be placed at the staff entrance for ALL staff to sign in/out. This will be used as our fire register in the event of an emergency.
