Fair Start Scotland

Fair Start Scotland

Fair Start Scotland is the new employment support service for Scotland providing a tailored, flexible and person-centred support to people who want help to find work and stay in work.

The service is available across the Forth Valley and is delivered locally by Clackmannanshire Council in partnership with Falkirk Council, Stirling Council, NHS and other specialist providers.

Fair Start Scotland can support you if you are struggling to find a job which meets your needs because you

  • are unemployed,
  • have caring responsibilities,
  • are a single parent,
  • have a health condition, a disability or additional support needs.

Support available

Fair Start Scotland is a voluntary programme that treats people with dignity and respect by providing flexible support, taking into account personal circumstances and removing barriers to accessing work.  If you choose to take part, you will be allocated a key worker who will support you to:

  • Remove barriers to accessing work
  • Access a tailored programme of support
  • Identify opportunities to help you gain new skills and experiences
  • Look for suitable jobs and prepare for interviews
  • Sustain your job through in-work support

You may be eligible for Fair Start Scotland if you:

  • Live in Scotland
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Are over 18 and out of work
  • Are aged 16 or 17 and are either disabled or in receipt of Employment Support Allowance or Universal Credit
