This new cycle route opened at the end of May 2012 and is the latest section in Clackmannanshire Council's active travel strategy.
The new cycle route provides a user friendly, off road link from the Hillfoots village of Menstrie to the neighbouring village of Tullibody and to the NCN76 which links to the NCN767 to Dollar and the NCN764 to Dunfermline. It also complements the Round the Forth routevia Clackmannanshire Bridge.
The route is finished with a bituminous surface and is fully accessible to disabled users.
Noteworthy features of this project have been the construction of a new hardwood running surface on the old rail bridge, reclamation of the old rails and sleepers for re-use elsewhere and the extensive use of old road planings as sub-base material.
