Athletics is a priority sport for Clackmannanshire Council and we place a focus on the targets of the Scottish Athletics''Developing Performance Strategy' in order to have a positive impact on athletics in Clackmannanshire.
The local focus is on four key areas:
The Central Athletics Clubis one of the largest athletics clubs in Central Scotland and the premier club in the Stirling and Clackmannanshire areas.
The Club has a proud history of team and individual success including a number of Scottish champions, record holders and internationalists who have developed from the grass roots of the club.
The Club provides coaching and competition throughout the year across a variety of events including track and field, indoor league, cross country, road running and hill running.
In order to enable athletes to achieve their goals the club and the Council advise all new athletes aged under 12 years to enter the club through the Run Jump and Throw Club sessions organised by Sports Development.
Wee County Harriers is a running club based in Alloa. The club train for all running distances, cater for all categories of runners and also hold numerous social events. Whether you want to train for road running, hills or cross country, this club welcomes you to discover the joy of running.

A selection of races that can be viewed online at the Scottish Athletics website. The Scottish Schools Championships take place on Saturdays throughout the year which children can enter.
