External Thermal Render Cladding Programme

External wall insulation, internal wall insulation and loft insulation

This project (2019/20) delivered energy efficiency improvements to 106 houses, of which 46 were Council properties and 57 owner occupiers.

These properties are of non-traditional construction that tend to have poorer thermal performance overall.

A total of 103 properties have external wall insulation and 3 stone built properties were assessed for internal wall insulation. In addition to this loft insulation was fitted to help improve the energy efficiency for the properties.  All Council properties were also provided with new soffits, gutters and downpipes.

This project aimed to tackle fuel poverty and energy efficiency advice and support was provided by specialised Energy Efficiency Officers.

All work was carried out by Everwarm using local labour and suppliers where practical.

Participating owner occupiers received Scottish Government funding and interest free loans were available from the Scottish Government.
