Food & Licensing

The Food and Licensing Section:

Is responsible for Food Safety including, advice, butchers licensing and waste management issues arising from food premises
Is responsible for Food Standards including the composition and labelling of food.
Carries out Food Hygiene and Food Standards Inspections of all of Clackmannanshires food businesses. Where necessary, we ensure work is carried out to enable businesses to meet legally required standards of hygiene
Investigates complaints made to the Council about food standards and hygiene within food businesses
Investigates complaints of noise or smell from food businesses or licensed premises
Deals with licence applications for Street Traders, Caravan Sites
Investigates reports of Infectious Disease and food poisoning
Is responsible for Environmental Health aspects of licensing including premises licensed in terms of Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 and Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976
Promotes healthy lifestyles through Health Promotion initiatives
Carries out routine sampling of food for bacterial and compositional analysis
Deals with all aspects of Caravan Site licensing
