The Museum and Heritage Service has a collection of objects and images which relate to the history of the county. These have been gathered over the last forty or so years. The collection is quite wide-ranging and includes:

- civic regalia from the old burghs of Alloa, Alva and Tillicoultry;
- miners' and friendly society lodge banners;
- a large collection of W & J A Bailey's Alloa Pottery;
- brewing and brick-making memorabilia;
- objects and apprentice pieces from Alloa Glass Works;
- dolls' houses, rocking horses and other toys;
- many domestic items from the last century;
- family memorabilia; and
- the collection from Paton's Kilncraigs Mill (founded c 1814) which, with its accompanying documentary archive, probably forms the most complete group of historical material from a spinning mill to have been preserved in Britain.
